Airport Travel in the SFV

Let the Good Times Fly!

The holidays are just around the corner: time to start planning that vacation. With the recent issues surrounding airline safety, statistically speaking, traveling by airplane is still the safest form of transportation. So, where are we going? If traveling domestically, Burbank Airport is your closest option if you live in the San Fernando Valley. If you want to jet-set the US and other parts of the globe, LAX offers international travel. How will we get there? Here are some options for you to ponder that will take the stress out of your travel plans. Let’s Go!

Uber/Lyft:

One of the benefits of taking Uber or Lyft is you don’t have to rely on friends or family to drive you to the airport. You also don’t need to worry about parking your vehicle at an airport lot where the fees vary from lot to lot but range from $48.00-$70.00 a day! You can ride solo or pick a ride-sharing option to reduce the cost. The fee varies by distance to your airport of choice. For example, a ride from Sherman Oaks to LAX will average between $55.00-$95.00. Check the ride-share app for further details.

Super Shuttle Express:

If you want to treat yourself to a luxurious experience Super Shuttle Express is the way to go. They have premium sedans and SUVs to get you to your destination in style. The fees for this service start around $80. Get a quote at https://www.supershuttle.com

Metro Micro:

Did you know you can get around the East San Fernando Valley for only $1 with Metro Los Angeles? Metro Micro has a service area that covers part of North Hollywood, North East boundaries, the North Hollywood Red Line Station, the NOHO Arts District, the Hollywood-Burbank Airport, and many more fantastic locations. You can schedule your ride (like an Uber) via phone, online, or mobile app. Zone hours are 5:30 am-10pm. For more information and to schedule, go to micro.metro.net.

LAX FlyAway:

This is a great option if you are traveling on a budget. One-way fare for the LAX Flyaway is $9.75 and takes you straight to your terminal. One straight shot! Children under five years of age ride for free. Public parking at the Van Nuys FlyAway is $6.00 for the day and a 30-day maximum. There are limitations with luggage. BurbankBus Orange Route:

This budget-friendly option is only $1.00! The NoHo-Airport route starts at the LA Metro North Hollywood B (Red) and G (Orange Line) Station and runs east along Burbank Boulevard before heading counterclockwise to the Hollywood Burbank Airport and then back to the North Hollywood Station. The Airport Authority provides complimentary shuttle service between the Burbank Airport-North Station and the Airport terminal. Service hours are from 5:30 am-10:37 pm, Monday-Friday. Other limitations apply. For more information: (818) 246-4258 or visit https://www.burbankca.gov/orange-route
